Hi, I'm Jazmine Garcia, and I'm honored to be running to represent Ward 4 on the Norfolk City Council.
Ward 4 isn't just where I live it's my home. It's where I've built relationships, served my neighbors, and seen both the incredible strengths of our community and the challenges that many families face every day. As a public health professional, I've spent my career working to improve the health and well-being of our communities, and I've learned that real change happens when people are heard, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed.
That's why I'm running to Move Ward 4 Forward.
To me, moving Ward 4 forward means creating safer neighborhoods by investing in mental health resources, violence prevention, and community healing. It means making sure our children and young adults have access to mentorship, after school programs, and workforce opportunities that help them reach their full potential. It means supporting our small businesses, creating economic opportunities for working families, and making sure growth benefits the people who already call Ward 4 home.
I also believe leadership starts with listening. Every resident deserves a seat at the table, and every voice matters. If elected, I'll lead with transparency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to working alongside our neighborhoods not just speaking for them. Together, we can make decisions that reflect the needs, priorities, and values of our community.
I'm not running because I have all the answers. I'm running because I believe the best solutions come from working together. Ward 4 is filled with passionate residents, hardworking families, dedicated business owners, and young people with incredible potential. My job is to bring those voices together, advocate for our community, and make sure Ward 4 receives the attention and investment it deserves.
This campaign is about more than one election it's about building a stronger future for our neighborhoods. A future where families feel safe, businesses can grow, young people have opportunities to succeed, and every resident knows they have someone at City Hall who is listening and fighting for them.
I'm excited about what's possible for Ward 4, and I'd be honored to earn your trust, your support, and your vote.
Together, let's Move Ward 4 forward.
